A beautifully decorated Chinese porcelain plate in the classic famille rose medallion manner, featuring alternating panels of elegant court figures and lush floral sprays centred around peony motifs.
The richly coloured enamel palette pink, green, iron red and soft yellow sits within a scrolling border and is finished with a gilt rim, making this an ideal cabinet plate or wall display piece.
The underside bears a Qianlong-style four-character mark in iron red. As is common with medallion wares, the mark is best understood as honouring an earlier period style rather than a guarantee of 18th-century manufacture.
Perfect for chinoiserie interiors, collector displays, gallery walls, or as a statement piece on a stand.
Looks especially good displayed upright on a brass stand or hung as part of a blue and white / famille rose salon wall.

The base shows a four-character iron-red reign-style mark, which appears to be a Qianlong-style mark (“…年製” / “made in the … period”).
On pieces like this, such marks are very often apocryphal (decorative/aspirational rather than a literal date), so the mark alone is not proof of 18th-century manufacture.
The medallion/panel format became especially popular in the 19th century, with production associated with Guangzhou (Canton) decorating and Jingdezhen porcelain bodies, often aimed at export markets where richly coloured cabinet plates were fashionable.
Figural panels of elegant women and attendants reference literati theatre/romance scenes and idealised courtly life, classic motifs that remained popular into the late Qing and Republic periods.
