A characterful small carved Chinese wooden figure depicting a seated imperial/official personage on a throne, with beautifully timeworn traces of original polychrome paint across the robe and base. The reverse bears an ink inscription which appears to be a makers mark.
With its layered surface, chips, and aged patina, this is an evocative decorative antique for a cabinet, desk display, or curated interiors shelf, ideal for collectors of Asian art, folk sculpture, and wabi-sabi surfaces.
