A finely detailed Iranian souvenir miniature-style painting on a polished camel bone plaque, purchased in Isfahan (Esfahan) in 1977 as noted on the reverse. The intimate figural scene is executed with elegant linework and delicate patterning, and the plaque is signed “Okhoudt” at the lower right with a stylised monogram.
These bone mounted paintings were popular with travellers to Isfahan in the mid–late 20th century, drawing on the city’s long tradition of Persian miniature aesthetics while using a smooth, ivory-like bone surface that shows the natural grain of the material.
